The idea of Pink Party originated with a young woman named Kaitlyn Verbruggen in honor of her mother, Connie, an 13 year breast cancer survivor, and for the many, many, countless women (1 in every 8), and men (much more rare), that find themselves diagnosed with this disease annually.
A committee of passionate community members rallied around this idea and Pink Party Breast Cancer Foundation became a reality.
An annual fund-raising event is held every October, during National Breast Cancer Month, to increase awareness and to raise funds for LOCAL breast cancer support organizations and local women and men in need. Other events are held through out the community and neighboring communities throughout the year. This year's Gala will be held on October 12, 2013.
Our First Annual Pink Party held in 2010, at Hollanders Pub and Grill, Little Chute, was a HUGE success....a Gala Celebration in honor of the women (and men!) in our lives.....mothers, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, sisters, friends, and neighbors. And sometimes men: brothers, uncles, cousins, fathers! In the past 2 years, Pink Party has helped 99 women (and 1 man) from our local communities, suffering from breast cancer. In addition, funds raised helped us to support the local AMC Cancer Center and TCBH's "CancerVive" program, a 12 week counselling program for those newly diagnosed. We also assisted with mastectomy supplies, genetic testing, wigs, and gifted to the "Sisters Study" UW Madison, and MORE.
